Happy Holidays!!

Happy Holidays everyone!!
Don't be alarmed by Gollum, he's still mad he didn't get his 'precious' returned to him for Xmas.
Hopefully, you had a great Xmas and you didn't receive any lumps of coal.
You were nice this year weren't you?

Happy Kwanzaa today for those of you who celebrate. You've got 'til January 1st to get into the swing of things. If you don't know about Kwanzaa, here's your chance to learn what it is.

Selfish Wishlist LIVE 2006

Why beat around the bush? You know?
This is a list of stuff I want for Xmas/birthday, in order of priority.
I know that some people think this is really cheap, to tell people what to get you,
but I think it's great when you have no idea what to get for someone.
So, I'm helping you! Haha

Anyway, on with the list...

Number 1.
Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel for PSP.

I mostly want this as it somewhat rare, but can be acquired online at places like amazon.com.
Wow, a rare PSP game? Novel. Haha. Anyway, it's also a good example of a company blurring the lines between a comic book and a video game. Sounds pretty neat to me!
If any kind soul wants to get xmas brownie points, I'd love this title for Xmas/birthday as it is fairly cheap at nearly $20 and I've been wanting it for about six months.

Number 2.
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

Since I may actually sell my PS3, I can't rightly have my first or second item be a PS3 game, now can I? Of course not.
So, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops for PSP is number 2.
I typically wouldn't want any top two gifts be two of the same game franchise, but this PSP game seems to be what fans of the original MGS are looking for plus it features multi-player modes using one UMD!

Number 3.
Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation

Wow, a Gameboy Advance game? Yep!
I've wanted to play a Super Robot Wars game in English for ages. The time has come, thanx to the popularity of the aging (yeah, right) GBA.
In some ways this could be a number for me, but it's a strategy game, which I've recently kinda' ranted about. Too many strategy games for portable game systems.

Number 4.
Walter Baumhofer: Pulp Art Masters

Whoa!! A book?! Yes, a book. I have recently purchased a Wacom Digital Tablet and Pen and have been wanting to get some pulp art to learn some of those old-school painting techniques.
I searched around amazon, but they didn't have any copies. So this one might be a little of a treasure hunt, but would be greatly appreciated, I assure you.

Number 5.
The New Animated Adventures of Flash Gordon

I used to love this cartoon, like none other. I would wake up every Saturday morning to watch Flash and the gang fight the evil Ming the Merciless religiously. The company who made this gem made He-Man, She-ra, Star Trek The Animated Series (which I now own), Gilligan's Planet, Fat Albert, Tarzan and more. I loved all of their shows and would really be happy with any of them. But a special place will always go out to Flash Gordon because of the wild adventures and sci-fi setting.

Number 6.
20th Anniversary Edition Optimus Prime

This toy actually came around a year ago at about $80-90 but has been re-released at about $70.
Sure, this is a very expensive toy, but I wanted it last year and I missed an opportunity to snag it at $20 from Sears on clearance. Ouch!! But it's really cool and I have no idea where'd I'd put it.

Number 7. RECEIVED!!!
Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire PS3

Well, if I don't actually sell my PS3, I want to at least get something for it that I know I'd enjoy. GUNDAM!
Despite the horrible reviews and the noticable difference between original promotions and the final details, I want this game because it's always a good time to pick your side and blast your way to victory, Mobile Suit style!!

Number 8.
Sony Portable Reader System

Coming in at the most expensive item on the list is an item, I expect no one to give me this, but is a great example of what kind of thing I would buy were money no object.
I've used the Sony Reader and I can easily say that this is the future of reading. Super-crisp text, selectable fonts and font sizes and the ability to listen to music while reading makes this the ultimate book format. I don't travel often but this would be one the best items to take along on a long flight or train trip. Sure portable gaming can fill in time, but reading on the road can be fulfilling like none other.

Number 9.
RECEIVED!!!
Star Wars Battlefront II (Xbox or PS2)

I loved playing the first Battlefront and I have the less-features version for PSP, but there's always room on a Xmas list for Star Wars, no?
Since, Lucas has decided that there needs to be more Star Wars on dvd than most people wanted, I do not want the newest of the new Star Wars dvds but will take any of them if you care to give them. They include the original, as God intended, versions of the original trilogy - of which, my favorite is still Episode VI: the Return of the Jedi. Yeah... it will always be the 3rd one to me.

So there it is. The list.
My list of nine items I want for xmas/birthday from high cost to low.
With this, things should get a lot easier for you would-be gift buyers.

Don't say I never did anything for you.

Security Watch: MySpace Worm Spreads to Your Space

Security Watch: MySpace Worm Spreads to Your Space

read the article here

recently, I left MySpace for security reasons, perhaps it's time for others to realize that MySpace loves a community but doesn't care to protect it.

The greatest adventure is what lies ahead
Today and tomorrow are yet to be said
The chances, the changes, are all yours to make
The mold of your life is in your hands to break.

The greatest adventure is there if you're bold.
Let go of the moment that life makes you hold.
To measure the meaning can you make delay
It's time you stopped thinking and wasting the day.

A man who's a dreamer and never takes leave
Who thinks of a world that's just make-believe
Will never know passion, will never know pain
Who sits by the window will one day see rain.

- Glen Yarborough

Fear of change online is not the sign of an adaptive and intelligent service. Not to mention the problem MySpace has with friend invites from porn celebs and possible stalkers.
MySpace needs to be cleansed!
Cleansed!

Outrage Over Police Shooting Of Black Man On His Wedding Day

Outrage Over Police Shooting Of Black Man On His Wedding Day

Later in the article...

''We cannot allow this to continue to happen,'' the Rev. Al Sharpton said at the gathering outside Mary Immaculate Hospital, where one of the wounded men was in critical condition.

''We've got to understand that all of us were in that car.''

This is an outrage. Regarless of the law, by the book, excessive force was used. BUT, what I am outraged at is the comments above by Al Sharpton.

There is never a time in my life where I would expect any police officer to jump onto the hood of my car and point a gun at me! This isn't a color issue! This is a crime issue.
Is Mr. Sharpton asserting that we (mostly referring to the black community) are also at risk of being shot at because we are all criminals??!
What's he doing that groups him together with someone being chased by the law?

I was not in that car. I would never be in that car.
Why'd this guy go speeding off when a police officer jumped on his hood?
What was he afraid of? Was there something he didn't want to be caught for?
That's the real issue here!

Dammit! I was not in that car! Were you?

The past looks scary

RESISTANCE: Fall of Man Website

Yea, brothers and sisters.

I have seen the light. I have seen the future. I have seen the past, too!
There be aliens in the past trying to blast up all that is good and holy.
There be wild beasts from planets unknown and guns of all sizes to reload.
There be big aliens and regular aliens. Ones with many eyes and ones with ray-guns!
There be tasty tidbits of shooting goodness and sumptuous morsels of gory offerings.
It's a world without sanity. A world without hope. A world without a broken time-line.
A world with adrenaline, blood and bullets.
A place where paranoia can save your butt and where bravery and the adventurous spirit are
justly rewarded.
It's the Resistance, man! The Fall of man, man!
So much fun, I almost forgot where I was and what was going on around me.
Poo for Wii, Yay for PS3!

Too few goats or MySpace politics

A traffic officer in eastern Ontario, who ticketed a speeding motorist from Switzerland in September, said the driver blamed it on the lack of goats. He told the officer that he felt liberated to drive fast because, unlike in his country, there were no goats wandering onto the highway.

Korinne Barnes, 29, a single mother of three running for the North Kingstown (R.I.) School Committee, was finally persuaded in September to remove her MySpace.com personal listing in which she described herself as "smart, sexy, fun" and a "voluptuous chocolate sister with a big booty."

Wake up! Your Mental Health is Calling

I woke up this morning at 5:40am.
This is decidedly odd for me as anyone who knows me can attest.

I was having a dream about being in a movie theater-like aquarium with a man whom I don't know, and a couple of Asian kids, who I also don't know. I'll save you the horrible details of the rest of the dream and segue into this...

Why do dreams turn bad? I was having a happy almost gleeful dream about a most wonderful aquarium experience then I started to get the feeling that we were in a maze and were going to become the brain-powered generators of vastly unfathomable computer power.
I know, I know. It's sorta' Matrix-like, but I couldn't help it. I was dreaming. Then I was beginning to nightmare (is that a phrase). But why?
I woke up before the dream got really crazy and felt like I was a kind of Stephen King or something. I had unleashed a mental power of deviousness previously unknown to me. And I began to welcome the darkness of my room, the silence of the early morning hour and the morose thought of a room of headstones in the lowest floor of a movie theater-like aquarium; all the way down to the blind ushers.

Why do things happen this way? Couldn't I have had a happy dream and woken up in a different state of mind? Why? Why? Why?

But perhaps I woke up to save myself the anguish, horror and mental distaste of unnecessary trauma. Yeah. I'm sticking with that. I woke up to save myself, that man I don't know and the two Asian kids that I also don't know. Go me! A bloody hero of the mind...

Games, games, games

Well, I have officially beaten GUN for PS2.
I no longer want to play Phantasy Star Universe and
I really want to play Final Fantasy XII.

What's this?? A complete flip-flop?
That's right! I flipped and flopped.
Why the change of interest? Why shift course?

Well, FFXII was made by the same artists responsible for Final Fantasy Tactics and
Vagrant Story. Also, a number of co-workers are going to play it, boosting the game's community aspect.

Who knows what I will do? Hopefully I can scrape together some trade-ins, as $50+tax isn't my idea of a good time.

Why do noses run?

Hi, everyone.

I have a few dumb questions...

Why do noses run? And where are they going?
What is the reason for a runny nose anyway?
Are we flushing out brain fluid? How do cold air and runny noses
get together to make life that much more unbearable?

The world may never know.

Conjuring and pondering-

Halloween, has come and gone.
I wonder how many of you had an opportunity to dress-up and have a good time.

I conjured up an image of my 'ween costume for 2006.
I had a super seamstress help me with the robe. I have to say, magic can be real.

Hope you had a fun time, too.

There are four lights!

The most fun you'll have with Star Trek other than actually watching it.
The wonderfully clever Darkmateria and Brian Castro come together to create a music video that is as infectious as you are geeky (mutually dependent scenario).

Sims and Star Trek blended together with a vocally driven musical masterpiece that is sure to push your geek meter into overdrive.

Turn the volume up, see if you can remember the episodes referenced in the songs lyrics and have a blast!
